Lately I have been pondering something about God in a deeper way than I have before. It was sparked by a situation in which a Christian lady kinda disappointed me. She did nothing wrong by any means, and felt that she was hearing from the Lord to take this action, though she knew it would mean something not-so-great for me. Her choice was not what I would have done and it kinda left me in a lurch, but ultimately she needed to do what she felt God was telling her to do. In fact, doesn't that show great character?! Doing something you feel God is telling you to do even though a fellow believer may get a little ticked? That takes guts, and I appreciate that in her.
Anyway, after getting over the initial frustration, I started to think about it more clearly, and it got me questioning....
Isn't it odd to think that, while God is working on my behalf each moment, he is also working on everyone else's?
Not only that, but he's working everything out for the good of His GREATER, WORLDWIDE, ETERNITY-LONG purpose, as well as for the greater good in ALL our lives....
That means that even if someone hurts us, or does something that we would've done differently, he's still in it all. He's teaching us a lesson, gearing us up for something, maybe teaching them something, all while simultaneously working for His great purpose.
Ultimately, it comes down to us trusting in those we know - that they are hearing from the Lord, and trusting God even more that he speaks to us and is sovereign over all. Now, let me say I know that this is not always the case. We fall short all the time, we can misunderstand God, or even sometimes struggles are related to warfare or our own flesh at work against the Spirit. However, in cases NOT like that, it made me see another call to step up in my faith. Another "Will you trust me in this?" from my Master.
God's purpose and plan so far exceeds my little world. So far exceeds my lifespan. So far exceeds my family, my town, my state, my country. He is constantly working in all, through all, and in spite of all I might do that could mess things up. He is taking past, present and future and weaving this glorious tapestry of all mankind that proclaims His glory.... and I'm just this little tiny thread in the midst of it all ( Lord, let me be a blue one ;] ).
Thank you God for your incredible divine plan. Use me in it, make me more like you. Help me to trust you more and more.
