I'M SICK. Ugh. I started feeling the tickle in my throat late on Sunday and thought "maybe I just need to drink some water". Monday morning, it was still there. I fought it until it took over on Wednesday, and today my voice has decided it doesn't want to hang around me anymore.
Brandon and I are entering yet another crossroad point in our lives that involves potentially moving. [This will be the 14th time total, and the 8th time since we've been married! For all you mathletes this is 2.333333 times a year.] We'd love for you to pray with us that God would show us the best thing to do, and that if we do move out of our condo and rent it, that it will rent QUICKLY! WE are kind of already leaning this way because it makes the most sense, but perhaps God has other plans.
This picture was our first one taken out front of our house when we
got the keys just a few days after my birthday in 2007!
(notice the bags we have - that's sponges, tile sealer, paint brushes etc and probably some soda)
Messy kitchen.... can't remember if we were moving in or out on this one.
Looks like in though because the coffee pot is out. :)
We've been in, out, in, out, and in our house.
About to maybe be out again.
Our beautiful hardwood floor right after it had been finished in
our bright blue room.... please excuse the dirty camera lens.
Our house really is beautiful. Well, I think so anyway. We had the chance (and I'll say it, the money) to make it what we wanted it to be back in the day. I do love it and in the future if we ever call another place HOME it will most likely have brightly colored walls, dark bamboo floors, and roman shades [which we got a for STEAL people.... I mean it was ridiculous how much of a sale we got those on].
One of the things I value about our home was that everything we added to it was done by us, friends and family. Our friends and family helped us paint the house (which I really love - I love the memories I have of painting with them), family helped us lay the flooring, and family and friends have helped us move multiple times.
People say that often women find their identity in their homes in the way a man finds identity in his job. Women want a nice house filled with nice things, and they lay down deep roots where they want to stay as long as possible. Moving feels like you're leaving your heart behind. This is not me. Not yet anyway.
Moving has been a HUGE pain, even though after so many times we have it down to a science at this point. But we've learned all kinds of lessons along the way -- things we never would've learned had we stayed at our place the last 3 years. All the places we've lived have been challenging and easy in different ways, and so we've learned a lot, grown a lot, and even in a practical sense, know exactly what we like and don't like in a living space. We've lived in 1,770 square feet, and we've lived in a 9 1/2' x 10' room. And we've always been blessed, whether we had a little extra money or whether our credit cards were maxed out and we had negative.
God has seemed to call us to a nomadic and risk-taker kind of lifestyle right now, which is OK. Will it ever end? God knows. Will I ever get to lay down roots? God knows. For now I'm just trying to take life as it comes and remember that this earth isn't my real home anyways.
